Learn Japanese through drama

Do you have a favorite Japanese drama? Isn't it fun when you can understand what people are saying in the dramas? Today, we'd like to show you a site that uses drama-style teaching materials and another one that can help you understand dramas by using the contents as teaching materials.

We're introducing these sites so that even beginner level learners can learn Japanese conversation in a fun and familiar way while watching TV dramas.

Japanese Language and Culture MARUGOTO PLUS Elementary 2A2 (conversation)

This is the conversation content from the MARUGOTO PLUS series website created for learners at the beginner 2A2 level.
The story begins with new members moving into the sharehouse started by the main character, Akiko.

You can follow the text to learn new words and expressions.

Don't miss the final development of the drama's storyline.

The videos come with Japanese and English translations to let you check your listening comprehension. You can also practice speaking by learning the lines and turning the sound off, where the main characters are speaking. There is also a ruby function where learners can arrange the furigana according to preference.

For learners who want to study after hearing the most important lines in the drama or for those who want to go back and review expressions they didn't understand, there is linked grammar content to check.

The next site is for advanced learners. It has a selection of actual TV dramas that were aired in Japan, some with prepared vocabulary lists.
