Today we'll introduce three types of learning materials for people with the following needs, to help learn subject contents using Japanese skills already acquired together with the native language.
・Children with foreign connections studying arithmetic and mathematics at schools in Japan and adults providing assistance.
・Children studying arithmetic and mathematics in Japanese in another country and adults providing assistance.
1. eboard
Learn using video lessons that come with やさしい字幕 (Easy-to-read Subtitles) written in simple Japanese, PDF workbooks (やさしい算数 (Easy Arithmetic)・やさしい数学 (Easy Math), and digital drills.
The scope covered by each material is as follows:
・Lesson videos → Elementary school arithmetic, junior high school math, high school math 1.
・Lessons that come with Easy-to-read Subtitles → Elementary school arithmetic, junior high school math
・Easy Arithmetic → 5th and 6th grade arithmetic
・Easy Math → Junior high school math
Download Easy Arithmetic and Easy Mathematics for free from this Download Form.

There are no foreign language versions available but the Japanese vocabulary and grammar used in Easy Arithmetic and Easy Mathematics is everyday conversation level and the concepts are illustrated with diagrams.
This allows you to use your learning skills that don't rely on Japanese ability (e.g. comparing and relating, inferring) to handle the material.
Recommended for people who fit the following description:
・You are able to follow most of the class content at school but sometimes the explanations and words are difficult to understand.
・You are now able to have everyday conversations in Japanese as long as they're spoken slowly, but the speed of the lessons are so fast that you can only vaguely understand the content.
How about using it like this?
1. Choose a unit and watch the video lesson using Easy-to-read Subtitles.
2. Work on the problems in Easy Arithmetic and Easy Math.
(3. Try the digital drills, if you want more practice.)
Or, create an account here so that you can keep a record of what you've learned.
2.Online Arithmetic and Mathematics Course with Professor Kuroda
Learn using video lessons and the PDF workbook.
The materials cover elementary school (grades 1-6), junior high school (grades 7-9), and high school (grades 10-12) content.
The video lessons are available in 8 languages.
(Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Portuguese, Ukrainian, English)
The PDF workbook is available in 6 languages.
(Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Portuguese, Vietnamese)
The content in the Japanese and other languages is the same so you can use them side-by-side, like this:
・Preview using the video and workbook in Japanese so you are familiar with the vocabulary before attending class.
・Look up the Japanese that you didn't understand during class in a language that you know well, as review.
You can use this for free too, without registering.
3.Educational Materials for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Children
Grasp the content of arithmetic in small steps while learning the terms used in elementary school such as 足し算・引き算 (addition and subtraction), 掛け算 (multiplication), 割り算 (division), and 分数 (fractions).
The materials are provided in downloadable PDFs and there is no need to register.
You can use this to suit your learning level of each unit, no matter what grade you're in.
These math materials are available in Portuguese, Tagalog/English, and Spanish.
This is the Tagalog/English page. Let's take a look at Fractions, under Arithmetic.
There are two types of educational materials: For Instructors, and For Children.
Let's take a look at the educational materials for children, in Portuguese.
As you can see, the vocabulary is introduced first, followed by examples and practice questions to let students proceed while making sure that they have understood.
Language used to learn academic content is known to take longer to acquire than language used in daily conversations with family, friends, and teachers.
Here, we introduced videos and downloadable materials to help understand language used to learn arithmetic and mathematics in Japanese.
