Recommended points
- There are lots of words in the database, and their various meanings, usages and example sentences are presented.
- The data is updated every two months or so, allowing you to search data that is close to the newest.
What can you do?
- You can search not just with a prefix search (begins-with match) but a partial match or an AND/OR search too.
- Even if you misspell a word, you can renew your search by referring to key words.
How to...
Search suggestions will appear when you type the word you want to search in the box at the top of the screen in Japanese (kana input included) or English.
Tap the applicable word to see the meaning.
Tap on the icon marked "単語帳" (Wordbook) at the right of the entry word to add that word.
Detailed explanations are in Japanese only, so are suitable for more advanced learners.
You can register up to 100 words in your wordbook.
Tap on the icon marked '単語帳' (Wordbook) to see it.
You can listen to words that have a speaker mark.
Tap on "設定" (Settings) and you can set the size of the characters displayed, whether or not to display yomigana (furigana) for kanji readings and so on.
